Psychometric Characteristics of the Pupil Rating Scale and the Parent Questionnaire as Helping Tools for Screening Developmental Dysgraphia

Abstract:

Tato práce si klade za cíl popsat psychometrické vlastnosti Škály hodnocení studenta (ŠHŽ) a Rodičovského dotazníku (RD) a přispět tak k možnému rozšíření screeningových metod, které napomáhají při zjišťování dysgrafických obtíží. V teoretické části přibližuji specifickou poruchu psaní a zmiňuji okolnosti působící na psychiku dítěte s obtížemi v psaní. Shrnuji screeningové a diagnostické nástroje používané ve světě i v České republice. V empirické části pracuji s daty nejen z dvou výše uvedených nástrojů, ale také s daty ze screeningových dotazníků HPSQ a HPSQ-C. U obou nástrojů ověřuji vnitřní konzistenci (α > 0,7). Dále zjišťuji přítomnost meziskupinových rozdílů u dětí bez a s podezřením na dysgrafii z dosažených skóru obou dotazníků. U ŠHŽ sleduji počet možných faktorů v dotazníku. Zaměřuji se také na vzájemné korelace všech použitých nástrojů, které mezi sebou vykazují nejčastěji středně těsný vztah.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to describe the psychometric characteristics of the Pupil Rating Scale and the Parental Questionnaire to contribute to the possible extension of screening methods which detect dysgraphical difficulties. In the theoretical part I describe a specific writing disorder and I mention the circumstances affecting the psyche of a child with difficulty in writing. I summarize the screening and diagnostic tools used in the world and within the Czech Republic. In the empirical part I work with the data not only from the two tools mentioned above, but also with the data from the HPSQ and HPSQ-C screening questionnaires. I verify the internal consistency (α > 0.7) for both tools. Furthermore, I find out the presence of intergroup differences in children with and without suspicion of dysgraphia from achieved scores in both questionnaires. I monitor the number of possible factors in the Pupil Rating Scale questionnaire. I also focus on the mutual correlations of all the used tools which most often show a moderate relationship among themselves.
