Job Opportunities and Experiences for Person with Stuttering on the Job Market

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Pracovní uplatnění a zkušenosti osob s koktavostí na trhu práce se zaměřuje na konkrétní zkušenosti a možnosti, které mají osoby s koktavostí na otevřeném trhu práce i v návaznosti na volbu jejich vzdělávací dráhy. Sledovanými oblastmi jsou mimo jiné pracovní pohovory, vztahy na pracovišti i budoucí plány sledovaných osob z hlediska dalšího vzdělávání a hledání zaměstnání. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a empirickou a skládá se ze čtyř kapitol. První část – teoretická, obsahuje tři kapitoly, z nichž první se postupně zaměřuje na problematiku lidské komunikace, vymezuje základní pojmy z této oblasti a v další části pak popisuje dva základní druhy lidské komunikace – verbální a neverbální. Druhá kapitola se věnuje narušené komunikační schopnosti, objasňuje fylogenetický a ontogenetický vývoj řeči i s přihlédnutím k jazykovým rovinám a na závěr blíže specifikuje narušení plynulosti řeči zejména se zaměřením na koktavost (balbuties). Třetí kapitola je věnována trhu práce, kdy v úvodu opět objasňuje základní pojmy a v dalších částech se věnuje se lidskému kapitálu a problematice zaměstnanosti a nezaměstnanosti. Empirická část práce obsahuje vlastní výzkumné šetření, přibližuje zvolenou metodologii a harmonogram výzkumného šetření a poté analyzuje provedené rozhovory s osobami s balbuties, dále jsou zde zodpovězeny výzkumné otázky a v závěru je uvedeno doporučení pro praxi. Vlastní závěr práce pak tvoří shrnutí teoretické i praktické části.

Abstract:

The master thesis called Job opportunities and experiences for person with stuttering on the job market focuses on specific experience and possibilities of people with stuttering on the job market following the choice of their educational path. Besides job interview and workplace relationships, the observed areas are the future plans of the observed individuals in terms of next education and searching of an occupation. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical one and the empirical one and consists of four chapters. The first part – the theoretical contains three chapters, first of which progressively deals with the issue of the human communication, it defines basic concepts of this area and in the next part it describes two basic kinds of human communication – verbal and non-verbal. The second chapter is dedicated to the impaired communication ability, it defines phylogenetic and ontogenetic development of the speech taking the linguistic levels into account and in conclusion it closely specifies the disruption of speech fluency especially focusing the stuttering. The third chapter is dedicated to the job market, where in the beginning it defines basic concepts and in next parts it deals with the human capital and the issue of employment and unemployment. The empirical part includes my own research investigation, it brings the chosen methodology and the schedule closer and then it analyses the interviews with the individuals with balbuties. Then the research questions are answered and in the conclusion the recommendation for the practice is mentioned. The conclusion of the thesis is formed by the summary of both theoretical and empirical part.
