Knowledge of nurses on mechanical ventilation

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je svým obsahem rozdělena do dvou částí (teoretické a praktické). Teoretická část se zaměřuje na problematiku umělé plicní ventilace (významná historická fakta, typy ventilace, odvykání od ventilátoru, extubaci) a specifika ošetřovatelské péče o ventilované pacienty (péče o dýchací cesty, dechová rehabilitace, monitorace pacienta v průběhu umělé plicní ventilace a potřeby ventilovaných pacientů). Stěžejní empirická část byla založena na originálním dotazníkovém šetření jako jedné z metod kvantitativního průzkumu. Jejím cílem bylo zmapovat deklarované znalosti i informovanost všeobecných sester pracujících na odděleních intenzivní medicíny o problematice umělé plicní ventilace.

Abstract:

The content of the thesis is divided into two parts (theoretical and empirical). The theoretical part focuses on issues of mechanical ventilation (significant historical facts, types of ventilation, weaning from mechanical ventilation, extubation) and specifics of nursing care for ventilated patients (care of the airways, respiratory rehabilitation, patient monitoring during mechanical ventilation, and needs of ventilated patients). The core empirical part was based on the original questionnaire survey as one of the quantitative research methods. Its aim was to chart the declared knowledge and awareness of nurses who works at intensive care ward on the issue of mechanical ventilation.
